Sugar down Rs.5/kg at Utility outlets

SLAMABAD: The Ministry of Production and Industries announced cut in sugar price by Rs.5 per kilogram at utility outlets with immediate effects, Geo News reported.

According to the statement issued from the ministry, the sugar price has seen decline of Rs.5 per kg upon the directives of Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani.

Now, sugar sells at Rs.60 a kilogram at Utility outlets.

The notification states that new crushing season has started now as mills have begun sugar production, which paved the way to deflation in price.

Currently, Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) is holding over 3,00,000 tonnes of sugar stock.

Sugar is selling at Rs.68 per kilogram in open market while it sells at Rs.71/kg in most markets in Pakistan.
